Familiar pieces of home are coated in flocking adopting the approach of the “landlord special”, a practice of globbing primer over every surface of a rental unit in a limp effort to hide imperfections. It does not matter that the latex paint traps moisture against the bricks, slowly degrading its integrity or that the outlet is painted over, blocking access. Everything is sacrificed for the sake of quick presentability.
Flocking is a time consuming process. And though done with care it too serves to colourfully obscure flaws and render everything it coats useless.
